Private equity group Inflexion acquires enviolo Inc.

AUSTIN, Texas (BRAIN) — London-based private equity group Inflexion has signed a definitive agreement to acquire enviolo Inc., the maker of continuous-gear drivetrain components used primarily in e-bikes.
Based in the Netherlands and with additional operations in Austin, Texas, enviolo designs and develops high quality e-bike drivetrain systems primarily for the European and North American markets.
“The enviolo team has created an innovative product offering that makes cycling more attractive and comfortable for the growing number of cyclists who turn to it as a social, healthy activity and an environmentally friendly means of transport in cities. The team is incredibly motivated and we look forward to working with them to further develop their excellent business, both in the local Dutch market and internationally,” said Simon Turner, Managing Partner at Inflexion.
Enviolo CEO David Hancock said: “We are proud and excited about the opportunity to work with bike manufacturers to jointly develop great bikes that can change the lifestyle of riders and reduce traffic congestion in urban areas. Our new partnership with Inflexion will help us grow faster as their proximity to our Amsterdam office and our presence in the US, China and India are well placed to support our plans. We look forward to this exciting new partnership.
Enviolo was known as Nuvinci Cycling until 2017. It was previously owned by Fallbrook Technologies, which reorganized after bankruptcy in 2018. Last month it announced a move to new offices in Amsterdam.
