FDOT Safety 192 meeting near St. Cloud schools
The Florida Department of Transportation is working to improve the safety of a section of 13th Street east of downtown St. Cloud.
The FDOT will hold a public meeting Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial St. Cloud Library (810 13th Street) regarding its plans for this stretch of highway, also known as US 192, at the intersections of Florida Avenue, Indiana Avenue, and Michigan Avenue. .
The agency is about to embark on a project to improve pedestrian safety at intersections. Plans include adding new pedestrian activated signals on Florida and Indiana Avenues, and improving traffic and pedestrian signals on Michigan Avenue.
This stretch of road has seen many accidents involving pedestrians and cyclists over the years. It is also a few blocks from a number of schools – Lakeview Elementary, Michigan Avenue Elementary, and St. Cloud Middle and High Schools.
During the in-person presentation, attendees can view a looped presentation and project displays, speak with project team members, and submit comments or questions.
In addition to attending in person, FDOT offers several ways for the community to participate in the meeting.
Virtual option: pre-registration is required by visiting bit.ly/32SdMib. Once registered, attendees will receive a confirmation email with information about whether to join the meeting online. Internet Explorer cannot be used to register or attend this webinar. If you are registering online, please allow sufficient connection time to view the entire presentation.
Telephone option (audio mode): Participants can join the meeting in listen-only mode by dialing 1-877-309-2074 and entering the access code 635-592-626 when prompted.
