City of Summerton Hosts Free Bike Rodeo

The City of Summerton will be hosting a free bike and safety fair on Saturday, April 23 at Taw Caw Park in Summerton.

Kids ages 5-12 will learn how to use their bike gear properly and test their skills on a road test. Participants must wear a helmet and bring their own bike.

The event will also include car seat safety inspections. Safe Kids Pee Dee/Coastal led by McLeod car seat technicians will work with you to ensure your child is in the correct seat and installed correctly, and that the seat is installed correctly in your vehicle.

The City of Summerton and the Summerton Police Department have partnered with local public safety agencies including the SC Department of Public Safety’s Bike Patrol Unit, State Parks Bike Rangers of SC, SC Highway Patrol, Manning City Police Bike Patrol Unit, South Carolina Law Enforcement. Division (SLED), the Bicycle Corporation of America (BCA) Manning plant, and the Columbia SC Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club.

BCA, the Manning facility will also be offering two new bikes for boys and girls! The event will also feature food trucks, live music, door prizes and you can fish too!

this event.
