Cessnock Bicycle Company and Saddler’s Creek Wines Host Ride For RFS June 13 | The advertiser – Cessnock
Looking for something to do over the long June weekend?
Cessnock Bicycle Company and Saddler’s Creek Wines have teamed up again to host a charity ride for the Rural Fire Department on Sunday, June 13.
The event will support the Central (Cessnock) and Millfield RFS Brigades, with representatives from both brigades in attendance that day.
The first Ride for RFS took place in December 2019, just months after the bike shop opened, and in the midst of the Black Summer bushfire crisis.
He attracted 40 runners and raised $ 1,100.
Cessnock Bicycle Company owner Steve Whitby said he chose the June long weekend for the second edition of the charity ride because it has traditionally been a busy weekend in the Hunter Valley and a quieter period for the RFS.
He said it was an event for “all types of cyclists,” with road, gravel, mountain bike and women’s group rides.
A $ 20 donation at the door will get you the event bracelet, which includes coffee, bacon, and an egg roll when your transport group returns to the Marrowbone Road winery.
There will be raffle prizes and same day giveaways from event sponsors and local businesses.
Gates will open at Saddler’s Creek at 7 a.m. for on-site parking, and all tour groups will depart at 8 a.m. for a 9:30 a.m. return (except for the ATV ride, which departs from Cessnock Bicycle Company at 8 a.m.).
