MILWAUKEE – The Wisconsin Bike Fed announced Thursday that it will once again host its Ride Across Wisconsin (RAW) event on August 20-21.

The event, which is the largest nonprofit fundraiser of the year, will feature a new route from La Crosse to Milwaukee and a variety of opportunities for cyclists to explore the state by bike.

The 2022 Ride Across Wisconsin route features Wisconsin attractions including the Elroy-Sparta State Trail Tunnels, Wisconsin Dells, Merrimac Ferry, Trek World Headquarters, and the Harley-Davidson Museum.

“This could very well be the best RAW route we’ve ever had,” said Amelia Kegel, Bike Fed’s 2022 race director. “Starting in La Crosse and ending in Milwaukee allows us to ride some of Wisconsin’s best rail trails, including the recently reopened Elroy-Sparta Trail.

“Plus, we visit some of the state’s most iconic two-wheeler companies – Trek Bicycles in Waterloo and Harley-Davidson in Milwaukee. If you’ve never cycled through our beautiful state before, this is the place. year to do so.”

With one or two day options, runners can choose a 235, 165, 135 or 100 mile challenge depending on their abilities and ambitions.

New for 2022, participants and their bikes can travel to the host cities of La Crosse, Wisconsin Dells and Milwaukee on Amtrak’s Empire Builder.

“RAW is truly an epic experience,” said former Ride Across Wisconsin participant Chris Stindt. “Wisconsin is an amazing place to ride a bike, and being able to ride a bike across the state is something I think everyone should experience.”
